the second largest ancient temple ever discovered in Egypt, covering a total area of more than 66,000 square meters. The temple was built specifically as a mortuary temple by Ramesses III who was the second pharaoh of the 20th dynasty, and also the last great pharaoh of the New Kingdom.
there are numerous of tombs, more well known as Tombs of the Nobles (Luxor), the burial places of some of the powerful courtiers and persons of the ancient city such as viziers, dignitaries, scribes and different categories of the priests.
There are at least 415 tombs, some of them are in a very good condition with fresh bright colors.
