This full-day trip from Marsa Alam to Edfu and Aswan allows you to experience two of the most important archaeological sites in Upper Egypt. You will visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, and the Temple of Kom Ombo, a unique double temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Horus.
The tour typically begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Marsa Alam. You will then travel by private air-conditioned vehicle to Edfu, a town located on the west bank of the Nile River. The journey takes approximately 4 hours.
Once in Edfu, you will visit the Temple of Horus, a massive Ptolemaic temple dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus. The temple is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, and its walls are covered with hieroglyphs and reliefs depicting the gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt.

The Aswan High Dam : is an embankment dam built across the Nile in Aswan, between 1960 and 1970. Its significance largely eclipsed the previous Aswan old dam initially completed in 1902 downstream. Based on the success of the old dam, then at its maximum utilization, construction of the High Dam became a key objective of the government following the Egyptian Revolution of 1952; with its ability to better control flooding, provide increased water storage for irrigation and generate hydroelectricity, the dam was seen as pivotal to Egypt’s planned industrialization. Like the earlier implementation, the High Dam has had a significant effect on the economy and culture of Egypt.
