Tour Plan

Day 1

• Meeting and greeting at Luxor airport or train station.
• Check in a hotel in Luxor.
• A visit to Luxor temple, which was built by various pharaohs such as Hatshepsut, Ramses II, Amenophis III, the young pharaoh Tutankhamon and others. It was erected during the New Kingdom (1550-1057 BC).
• Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 Dandara and Abydos

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• A visit to Dendera temple;
• Dendara is one of the best well-preserved temples in Egypt. The area was used as the sixth nome of Upper Egypt, south of Abydos. The temple of Hathor has been modified on the same site starting as far back as the Middle Kingdom, and continuing right up until the time of the Roman Emperor Trajan.
• A visit to Abydos temple;
• Abydos is an architectural and artistic masterpiece located 160 km north of Luxor, 100 km north of Dendera. Abydos was a sacred pharaonic city where the tomb of Osiris is found, according to Osirian legend. The myth of Osiris was so widespread that thousands of pilgrims came to Abydos to pray and be cared for there. It contains the fabulous temple of Sethi I.
• Overnight at a hotel in Luxor.

Day 3 Embarking on board and visiting Karnak temples

• Breakfast on board.
• In the afternoon, we will visit the biggest temple in the world that dedicated to the God Amon.
• The god Amon reigned supreme over the Egyptian pantheon for almost 2000 years. Each sovereign wanted to leave a tangible sign at Karnak, to the glory of the God Amon Ra.
• Dinner and over-night on board.

Day 4 A visit to the valley of the kings, the temple of Hatshepsut and the colossi of Memnon.

• There is a possibility to do a hot-air balloon ride. It is an aspect of the Egyptian tourist industry. • An amazing visit to discover the wonders of the Theban necropolis on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor, to visit the valley of the kings, the most wonderful and colorful tombs of the most famous pharaohs of the New Kingdom – 1550 -1057 BC, Hatshepsut temple, the unique temple of the lady – pharaoh and colossi of Memnon 1370 B.C, two gigantic statues built at the entrance to the funeral temple of Amenophis III, in the west bank of Luxor.

• Sailing to Esna, for 60 km to get through the Nile locks and sailing for about 50 km more to reach Edfu.

Day 5 A visit to the temple of Edfu and Kom Ombo

• Breakfast on board.
• A visit to the most well preserved and complete temple in Egypt, Edfu temple, which dedicated to the falcon-headed God, Horus by a horse and carriage.
• Sailing to Kom Ombo.
• Lunch on board.
• In the afternoon, we will have a small walk to visit the double temple of the Crocodile God, Sobek and the hawk God, Horus the Elder,
• Sailing to Aswan
• Dinner on board & over-night in Aswan.

Day 6 Philae temple and the High Dam

• Breakfast on board.
• A visit to Philae temple, we will visit the temple of Philae, the temple of the world-wide worshipped goddess ISIS.
• The Aswan High Dam is an embankment dam built across the Nile in Aswan, between 1960 and 1970. Its significance largely eclipsed the previous Aswan Low Dam initially completed in 1902 downstream. Based on the success of the Low Dam, then at its maximum utilization, construction of the High Dam became a key objective of the government following the Egyptian Revolution of 1952; with its ability to better control flooding, provide increased water storage for irrigation and generate hydroelectricity. The dam was seen as pivotal to Egypt’s planned industrialization. Like the earlier implementation, the High Dam has had a significant effect on the economy and culture of Egypt.
